U.S. House Majority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) today praised Senate passage of the Military Commissions Act (S. 3930), legislation that preserves the national security program for detaining and interrogating terrorists and authorizes military tribunals to bring suspected terrorists to justice. An identical bill (H.R. 6166) passed the House yesterday by a vote of 253-168. Tomorrow, the House is expected to approve the Senate bill and send it to the President’s desk for his signature.

The measure was introduced by Rep. Heather Wilson (R-NM). Boehner issued the following statement:
