U.S. House Majority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) today praised House approval of the Children's Hospital GME Support Reauthorization Act (H.R. 5574), which is now ready to head to the President for his signature. Boehner released the following statement:

U.S. House Majority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) today praised Senate passage of the Military Commissions Act (S. 3930), legislation that preserves the national security program for detaining and interrogating terrorists and authorizes military tribunals to bring suspected terrorists to justice. An identical bill (H.R. 6166) passed the House yesterday by a vote of 253-168. Tomorrow, the House is expected to approve the Senate bill and send it to the President’s desk for his signature.

The measure was introduced by Rep. Heather Wilson (R-NM). Boehner issued the following statement:
- “A large majority of Americans strongly support the Terrorist Surveillance Program because it represents a common sense weapon in the fight against terrorism.
