There's a #BetterWay. → better.gop

This morning, the Associated Press reported that the Obama administration will “likely” fail to meet a congressionally mandated deadline requiring a judgment on whether ISIS is perpetrating a genocide. The State Department must also assess whether the Assad regime is guilty of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Ahead of this critical March 17 deadline, the House will vote later today on resolutions condemning these atrocities. These important bills, which unanimously passed the Foreign Affairs Committee, will put Congress on record: ISIS is committing a genocide, and Assad is responsible for war crimes. As the administration waffles on this issue and double-downs on its failed strategy to defeat ISIS, the American people are speaking loudly and clearly on this issue.

Pressure Mounts on Obama to Call Islamic State Attacks on Christians “Genocide”

House Sets Vote on ISIL Genocide, Raising Pressure on Obama
“House Republicans will bring to the floor on Monday a resolution that declares that the Islamic State is committing genocide against Christians, Yazidis and other ethnic and religious minorities, congressional aides told POLITICO. The resolution, which has more than 200 co-sponsors from both parties, is expected to pass. It will raise the already intense pressure on the Obama administration to make its own declaration that the Islamic State is committing genocide—including against Christians—ahead of a congressionally mandated deadline next Thursday.” (POLITICO)
