Americans Say #StoptheTaxHike - Majority Opposes Tax Hikes on Anyone
With Democrats making “explicit threats” to tank our already weak economy if they don’t get a small business tax hike, a new survey shows a majority of Americans opposes raising taxes on anyone.
According to McClatchy, “a new McClatchy-Marist poll Friday found a majority of Americans … prefer the Republican proposal to” to stop all of the tax hikes versus President Obama’s plan to raise taxes on small businesses.
The survey “found 52 percent of registered voters saying they want” to stop the tax hikes, including “big majorities of Obama supporters such as young voters, Latinos and lower income workers” – many of whom are struggling to find jobs in President Obama’s economy.
In fact, ABC News says “people under 30 are ‘desperately trying to find full time jobs,’” and teenagers have an unemployment rate of 23.7 percent. And President Obama’s tax hike would only make things worse by hurting more than 900,000 small businesses across the country. No wonder “voters ages 18-29 favored” stopping all of the tax hikes “by a margin of 69-29, the largest margin of any age group.”
The House, on the other hand, will vote to stop all the tax hikes and lay the groundwork for a simpler, fairer tax code that closes loopholes and lowers rates for everyone to help “keep more jobs here in America and actually bring jobs that have gone overseas – bring them back home,” says Speaker Boehner.
