Last night, President Trump laid out a path to delivering on our bold agenda, including fixing our broken tax code to deliver lower taxes for working families and a level playing field for our businesses.

“Right now, American companies are taxed at one of the highest rates anywhere in the world,” he explained. “My economic team is developing historic tax reform that will reduce the tax rate on our companies so they can compete and thrive anywhere and with anyone. It will be a big, big cut. . . . We must create a level playing field for American companies and our workers. We have to do it. Currently, when we ship products out of America, many other countries make us pay very high tariffs and taxes. But when foreign companies ship their products into America, we charge them nothing, or almost nothing.”

We agree. That’s why our plan will encourage companies to bring jobs back from overseas and do businesses right here at home. And don’t just take our word for it. A growing coalition of American business leaders have already embraced our proposal as the best way to jumpstart our economy.

And, CNBC reported today that the White House praised the GOP tax blueprint in a meeting with conservative activists.

We haven’t overhauled our tax code in more than three decades. Now, with a unified Republican government, we finally have an opportunity to get this done for the country.
