This screenshot was snapped seconds after Health & Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius told the House Energy & Commerce Committee the ObamaCare “website has never crashed.”
In fact, since it launched on October 1, healthcare.gov has been plagued with error messages and meltdowns. “The Obama administration was given stark warnings just one month before launch that the federal healthcare site was not ready to go live,” reports CNN. But they went ahead anyway, dismissing calls from Republicans to do the fair thing and delay the law for all Americans, not just big businesses.
Of course, “the problem with ObamaCare isn’t just the website,” said Speaker Boehner, “it’s the whole law.” Contrary to the president’s often-repeated promises, ObamaCare is driving up premiums and kicking Americans out of health plans they like and can afford.
“The website has never crashed” joins “Nothing in #Obamacare forces people out of their health plans” (which earned four Pinocchios from the Washington Post) as yet another example of the White House hoping against hope that the American people won’t realize what a disaster its health care law really is.
