CBO Again Confirms AHCA Lowers Premiums, Lowers The Deficit | Speaker.gov

WASHINGTON—House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) issued the following statement in response to the Congressional Budget Office’s scoring of the American Health Care Act:

“Under Obamacare, premiums have more than doubled, and choices have dwindled to the point that many families have no options at all. We are on a rescue mission to bring down the cost of coverage and make sure families have access to affordable care. This CBO report again confirms that the American Health Care Act achieves our mission: lowering premiums and lowering the deficit. It is another positive step toward keeping our promise to repeal and replace Obamacare.”

NOTE: A new report from the Department of Health and Human Services shows that average individual market premiums have increased by more than 105 percent since 2013, the year before many of Obamacare’s regulations and mandates took effect.
