Speaker Boehner Appoints Rep. Kevin Brady as Chairman of the Joint Economic Committee

WASHINGTON, DC - House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) today announced the appointment of Rep. Kevin Brady (R-TX) as Chairman of the Joint Economic Committee (JEC):

“Kevin Brady is a champion of free market principles and during his time in Congress has worked for policies that grow the economy and lead to small business job creation.  Kevin has established a strong record as JEC’s vice chairman that has included the production of reports and materials that document the staggering regulatory and bureaucratic obstacles American families and small businesses face in today’s economy.  Kevin’s background as a community business leader has prepared him well to lead his colleagues as they report on and research the largest, most dynamic economy in the world.  His service at JEC will help to develop solutions to reform our tax code and our entitlement system in this Congress.  I look forward to working with him in his new role as Chairman.”

NOTE: Chairman Brady also serves as a senior member of the House Ways & Means Committee.
