HOUSTON—U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX), Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI), House Appropriations Committee Chairman Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-NJ), House Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee Chairman John Carter (R-TX), and members of the Houston Congressional delegation will be in Houston tomorrow for a briefing on Hurricane Harvey recovery efforts, an aerial tour of storm devastation and flood mitigation infrastructure, and to help local residents clean out damaged homes.

Sens. Cornyn and Cruz, Speaker Ryan, and the Congressional delegation will first receive a briefing from federal, state, and local officials including the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Texas National Guard, Harris County Flood Control District and others on Hurricane Harvey recovery efforts in Houston.  The delegation will then participate in an aerial tour highlighting existing and proposed USACE projects to mitigate future flooding in the region.
