House to Mark 50th Anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Assassination

WASHINGTON—On April 4, 1968, the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was fatally shot in Memphis, Tennessee. Today, House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) announced that the House will observe the 50th anniversary of Dr. King’s assassination with a service in Statuary Hall to honor his life and legacy.
