WASHINGTON—On April 4, 1968, the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was fatally shot in Memphis, Tennessee. Today, House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) announced that the House will observe the 50th anniversary of Dr. King’s assassination with a service in Statuary Hall to honor his life and legacy.
