Washington, D.C. – House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) released the following statement on Senate passage of H.R. 2, the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act, to end the “doc fix:”
“Tonight marks the end of a manufactured cliff that has prevented real reform and accountability in Washington for far too long. Congress came together in a bipartisan and bicameral way to enact the first real reform to entitlements in decades, and I think this is a sign of what’s to come. This legislation provides greater certainty to both patients and doctors, all while preserving essential programs for future generations. I want to thank Chairman Paul Ryan (WI-01), Chairman Fred Upton (MI-06), and their Committees for their leadership on this crucial legislation. I urge the President to sign this legislation without delay.”
