This morning, a new Gallup/USA Today poll confirmed that senior citizens support the House Republican budget over the President’s so-called deficit plan.
According To A New Gallup/USA Today Poll, Senior Citizens Support The House GOP Budget Over The President’s So-Called Deficit Plan By A Margin Of 48 To 42. “A new Gallup/USA Today poll contains a counterintuitive finding: the age group most receptive to House Budget Chair Paul Ryan’s plan to deal with the budget – seniors. The poll finds 48 percent of seniors (those 65 and over) support Ryan’s plan over President Obama’s plan, while 42 percent back the president.” (Josh Kraushaar, “Gallup: Seniors Most Favorable To Ryan Budget,” National Journal’s “Hotline On Call” Blog, 4/27/11)
Senior citizens must have realized, despite Democrats’ false claims to the contrary, that the House Republican plan is the only serious proposal that will cut spending to help grow our economy and protect and save our nation’s health and retirement security programs for future generations.
