“As Texas’s longest serving governor, Rick Perry led his state to create almost four times more jobs than the rest of the nation combined. And he knows how important energy is for American jobs and security. Under Governor Perry’s all-of-the above energy strategy, Texas outpaced the rest of the nation in the production of crude oil, natural gas, and electricity—an achievement aided by producing more wind energy than any other state in the country.
“Rick Perry has the experience and the ability to improve America’s energy production, update our nuclear and energy infrastructure, and weed out waste and incompetence at the Department of Energy. And he can lead the department to a renewed focus on basic research and development to cement America as the world’s undisputed leader in innovation in the 21st century. Governor Perry is uniquely qualified and ready for this job on day one.”
