Washington D.C. – House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) joined “Fox & Friends” to react to the President’s State of the Union address.
Excerpts of Leader McCarthy’s interview can be found below, or you can watch the full video here.
“I think it could make every American proud. The way he talked about, first starting out with, one – we can work together. Talking about the World War 2 vets and then bringing it back where America rescued the individuals from the Holocaust – Dachau and others…He talked about the exceptionalism of this country and that we can do that again.”
“What the President talked about, I thought he was very fair to all. He respected their win, he honored them in their win. But he also talked about things every American should support: the idea of protecting life of a child being born, you couldn’t stand for? Or the idea when you see those World War 2 veterans – what they risked their lives for and so many gave their lives for – the idea of socialism in America, you can’t stand against socialism? That’s really concerning to me.”
