Washington, D.C. – Today, Speaker Kevin McCarthy announced that Todd B. Tatelman, the current Principal Deputy General Counsel in the House’s Office of General Counsel, will be taking over as the acting General Counsel of the United States House of Representatives.
“The House will no longer be taking hyper-politicized stances in amicus curiae or in litigation. The American people elected this majority to hold this administration accountable and to protect this institution. I believe that Todd is the right person to lead these legal efforts until a permanent General Counsel is selected,” said Speaker McCarthy.
Todd B. Tatelman has worked in the Office of General Counsel since November 2011 and previously served at the Congressional Research Service as a Legislative Attorney. He holds a law degree, with honors, from the Catholic University of America’s Columbus School of Law.
