Pelosi Remarks at Photo Opportunity with The Right Honorable Justin Trudeau, P.C., M.P., Prime Minister of Canada
Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi held a photo opportunity today with The Right Honorable Justin Trudeau, P.C., M.P., Prime Minister of Canada, ahead of a bipartisan leadership meeting. Below are the Speaker’s remarks:
Speaker Pelosi. Good afternoon, everyone.
It is an official and personal honor to welcome the Prime Minister to the Capitol of the United States, once again. Once again, for us to restate the friendship that is between our two countries and for me to salute the Prime Minister on his leadership role in the world in addressing the climate crisis, addressing COVID and so many other issues.
In our two countries’ relationship, the issue of security has been one that we have shared and been a strong voice globally together. The issue of economy of our two countries in this hemisphere is an important role for both of our countries – and the issue of governance and values.
So, again, it is always – after hundreds of years of friendship, official friendship more than 150 years between our two countries, longer between our two peoples. Again, it is an honor to welcome the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau.
