Pelosi Names Carlos Paz Jr. Senior Communications Advisor and Robyn Patterson Deputy Communications Director

Washington, D.C. — Speaker Pelosi announced today new additions to her communications team led by longtime spokesman and Deputy Chief of Staff Drew Hammill and Communications Director Henry Connelly.  Speaker Pelosi has named Carlos Paz Jr. to be Senior Communications Advisor and Robyn Patterson to be Deputy Communications Director.

“Today, I am pleased to announce new additions to my communications staff who will strengthen our continued work For The People,” said Speaker Pelosi.  “Carlos Paz Jr. is an experienced and trusted resource who brings an intimate understanding of the media environment facing Members in their districts.  Robyn Patterson’s wide ranging campaign and official experience gives her a strong foundation to advance and amplify House Democrats’ message across the nation.  Carlos and Robyn will be a great asset to the House Democratic Majority in their new roles.”

As Senior Communications Advisor, Carlos Paz Jr. will focus on Democrats’ oversight, democracy reform and justice efforts.  Paz, most recently Chief of Staff to Congresswoman Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, previously served as Press Secretary and Director of Hispanic Media for Leader Chuck Schumer, as Communications Director for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, and in senior roles for then-Congresswoman Michelle Lujan Grisham and Congressman Gene Green.  Paz is a native of Texas and a graduate of George Washington University.

As Deputy Communications Director, Robyn Patterson will manage rapid response efforts for House Democrats.  Patterson most recently served as National Press Secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.  She has previously served as a spokesperson for Beto O’Rourke’s presidential campaign, Congressman Steven Horsford, the Department of Health and Human Services, and in several key Democratic campaign and grassroots advocacy roles.  Patterson is a native of Texas and a graduate of the University of Southern California.
