Sen. Rubio: 'No Evidence' GOP Tax Scam Benefits American Workers

April 30, 2018
Senator Marco Rubio – who voted for the deficit-exploding GOP tax scam in December – is now letting the truth slip on Republicans’ immoral tax bill.

In an interview with The Economist, he veered off GOP talking points and admitted the tax scam is not beneficial to the American worker:

“There is still a lot of thinking on the right that if big corporations are happy, they’re going to take the money they’re saving and reinvest it in American workers.  In fact they bought back shares, a few gave out bonuses; there’s no evidence whatsoever that the money’s been massively poured back into the American worker.”

A little louder for those in the back, Senator Rubio…

The GOP tax scam mortgages the future of seniors and working families in order to hand massive tax breaks to Wall Street, pharmaceutical companies, corporations shipping jobs overseas and the wealthiest 1 percent – ultimately raising taxes on 86 million middle class families.

As Republicans continue to sell their failing tax scam with broken promises and empty rhetoric, Democrats are fighting for real, bipartisan tax reform that puts the middle class first, responsibly reduces the deficit, and creates more good-paying jobs.
