Press Release
Washington, D.C. - Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced today that Congressman Harry Mitchell of Arizona will deliver the weekly Democratic Radio Address this Saturday.  Congressman Mitchell, the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations on the Veterans' Affairs Committee, will discuss congressional efforts to address the poor care our troops have received at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and other facilities when they return home from Iraq.

'Congressman Mitchell is strong voice for our nation's brave men and women in uniform,' Speaker Pelosi said.  'He is a leader on our efforts to provide intense oversight of the care our soldiers receive at Walter Reed and other facilities.  Democrats will make sure we fulfill our responsibility to our troops, who have sacrificed so much, when they return home.'

Congressman Mitchell will also chair a subcommittee hearing tomorrow to examine how the poor conditions and bureaucratic impediments at Walter Reed could affect the long-term needs of veterans.
