Speaker Boehner stopped by a recent meeting of the Legislative Branch Bulk Data Task Force to thank the group for its efforts to make the House of Representatives more open and transparent.

The task force was created to expedite the process of providing bulk access to legislative information. So far this year, House legislation, floor summaries, and the US Code have all been released in bulk XML.

But that’s not all: the House updated docs.House.gov to include a new, expansive set of committee information in XML. The House Clerk unveiled a search tool for HouseLive.gov, Leader Cantor expanded the Citizen Cosponsor project, and the Library of Congress announced a new legislative data challenge.

Boehner noted that all of these projects are important for the American people and for Congress as an institution, and he encouraged everyone to keep up the good work.
