Speaker Boehner: Time for the President to Keep His Promises to Veterans | Speaker.gov

WASHINGTON, DC – House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) today issued the following statement on the President’s remarks on the ongoing Veterans Administration scandal:

“We all share the American people’s outrage about the horrors at the VA – outrage the President belatedly echoed today.  But what about accountability for treating our veterans like second- and third-rate citizens? For deceiving them while their lives hang in the balance?  Today, the House will take action by passing the VA Management Accountability Act.  I urge the president to call on his party’s leaders in the Senate to act on this bill immediately.  The president has made a lot of promises to our veterans.  It’s time to keep them.”
