Speaker Boehner on the Two-Year Anniversary of ObamaCare | Speaker.gov

House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) today issued the following statement ahead of ObamaCare’s two-year anniversary:

Two years on, Americans’ worst fears about ObamaCare have been confirmed, and it must be fully repealed.  The White House has good reason to ignore this anniversary, but hardworking taxpayers can’t avoid ObamaCare, which is raising costs, jeopardizing coverage, and making it harder for small businesses to hire new workers.  ObamaCare has already proven unpopular and unaffordable, and my hope is that the law’s cornerstone – the individual mandate – will be ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court.  Democrats and the law’s most ardent defenders consider the individual mandate to be ObamaCare’s linchpin, and the American people overwhelmingly oppose it.  All told, the House has now taken 26 votes to fully repeal, defund, or dismantle parts of this law.  Republicans made a Pledge to America to fully repeal ObamaCare, and we won’t stop until we’ve made good on that pledge.”

NOTE: Earlier this week, Speaker Boehner filmed a short video on Republican efforts to fully repeal, defund, and dismantle the president’s health care law. Watch here.
