WASHINGTON—In a speech to The Economic Club of Washington, D.C., House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) spoke about how the policies of House Republicans have put the country back on a brighter path to prosperity and how Americans are Better Off Now.

Following are Speaker Ryan’s remarks, as prepared for delivery:

"This law is just failing very, very quickly. We’ve got to replace this law."

Since news broke that Obamacare premiums will rise by double digits next year, we’ve been waiting for the law's defenders to level with the American people. Instead, their emotions have been all over the place: Guilt. Laughter. Denial. Blame.

In this week’s Republican address, Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-TX) discusses the #BetterWay alternative to Obamacare—one that, instead of imposing higher costs and limited choices, offers affordable, reliable health care.

Yesterday, Speaker Ryan delivered an address to The Economic Club of New York to discuss #BetterWay—a bold agenda to tackle our country’s biggest challenges.

In this week’s Republican address, Rep. Keith Rothfus (R-PA) celebrates Constitution Day by discussing how a #BetterWay will restore accountable government and the separation of powers.

"Our economy is nothing without productive small businesses—this bill offers a better way to encourage success by expanding capital access and removing unnecessary burdens."

This morning, Speaker Ryan called in to The Hugh Hewitt Show to catch up with the radio host. In the interview, Speaker Ryan touched on two important—and timely—topics: congressional oversight and the #BetterWay agenda.

"We're going to keep this momentum going, because we believe it is our duty and our job for our fellow citizens and our constituents to offer solutions to our country's big, pressing problems. And that's exactly what we are doing."
