Today, House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) continued to press for action regarding the investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s unauthorized email system. In a letter to Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, Speaker Ryan requested that the intelligence community refrain from providing any classified information to Secretary Clinton. “This is necessary to reassure the public that our nation's secrets are secure.” Ryan writes.

While I respect the law enforcement professionals at the FBI, this announcement defies explanation. No one should be above the law.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton tried to hide her emails about Benghazi and Libya for years, including long after she left the Obama administration. In fact, she or her team may have even instructed tech companies involved with managing and storing her emails to delete some records last year, after she was told to turn them over to the State Department.

This classified information was not just located on a secret server in the Clintons’ private New York home, which Hillary Clinton had touted as secure because it was “property guarded by the Secret Service.” It has spilled around the Internet and been transported to places around the country:

In one 2011 email released by the State Department thanks to a court order, Clinton joked that the Chinese must have hacked her email, writing of a technical glitch that it “Must be the Chinese!”
In short, the former Secretary of her State and her team have gone from swearing seven ways to Sunday that there was no classified information in her personal emails, to promising that there was nothing in her emails that was classified at the time, to explaining that there was nothing in her emails that was marked classified at the time, to saying the rules regarding classified information don’t matter.
The former Secretary of State’s interview with MSNBC today was her latest attempt to explain away her exclusive use of a personal email account and private server for official government business, but all she did was stick to the same false statements she’s been feeding the American people for months:

There are very serious national security issues at stake, but there continues to be far more questions than answers these days from Team Clinton.

The latest batch of Hillary Clinton’s work-related personal emails released by the State Department provides at least 125 examples of the former Secretary of State and her staff mishandling classified information. The emails further confirm that virtually everything Clinton has told Americans about her unprecedented email arrangement is absolutely, categorically false.
