Washington, DC – House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) released the following statement on the passage of H.R. 4923, the American Manufacturing Competitiveness Act of 2016:
“When American companies produce goods, they produce jobs and opportunity. Policies to encourage more American manufacturing are bipartisan and beneficial to all, which is why the House overwhelmingly passed the American Manufacturing Competitiveness Act. Chairman Brady has identified barriers to American manufacturing by way of tariffs on inputs critical to make American goods. By removing these tariffs, businesses will have the confidence and ability to continue to invest in their companies and our communities. House Republicans are committed to advancing pro-growth policies, and relief on these tariffs that affect American manufacturers is a terrific way to achieve that.”
