Washington, D.C. – House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA-23) released the following statement on the rollout of the House’s A Better Way initiative on Tax Reform agenda:
“We have suffered from an extended period of subpar economic growth that has held back the American people while U.S. companies have found themselves at a competitive disadvantage in the international marketplace. The solution to these problems is to reform our tax code to foster innovation and economic growth that can help the American people prosper. In today’s blueprint, we propose a better tax code that will be simplified, close special-interest loopholes, promote significant job growth, and make America more competitive. It will flatten out tax rates, encourage savings and investment, repeal the AMT and the Death Tax, and get America growing again, all in a revenue neutral way that takes into account its beneficial effects. Our current tax code is holding us back, but with this plan, America will experience a rebirth of opportunity and prosperity.”
