Every day, we say ‘thank you’ to our veterans and their families. On Veterans Day—their day—we ought to take a moment to reflect on what we are thanking them for.
We ought to take time to think about what our veterans have been through. Not just wherever they were, and whatever they did. Think about the holidays they missed at home, or how many times they didn’t get to put their kids to bed. Think about the stories they have, and the wounds they carry.
It is important we say ‘thank you.’ But it is just as important that we live up to our words and live out our gratitude to the men and women who have kept us free.
God bless our veterans, and God bless America.
