Speaker Johnson Statement Two Years After Lifesaving Dobbs Decision
WASHINGTON — Today, Speaker Johnson released the following statement on the second anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision which moved the question of regulating abortion to the people’s elected representatives.
“Two pivotal anniversaries are upon us. Today is the second anniversary of the Dobbs decision, which has led to more than 200,000 innocent lives being saved over the past two years.
“Next week is the 248th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence—which boldly proclaimed the self-evident truths that all people are created equally by God and endowed by Him with unalienable rights, beginning with the right to life.
“These landmark celebrations should remind every American to embrace the miracle of life and the principles articulated so well in our nation’s birth certificate. The self-evident truths are timeless, and they still apply today.”
