| WASHINGTON — Speaker Johnson released the following statement after the House passed H.R. 77, The Midnight Rules Relief Act. “In the final months of the Biden Administration, over 1,400 unnecessary, harmful last-minute rules were imposed that burdened American businesses, workers, and families. The Midnight Rules Relief Act empowers Congress to roll back harmful, partisan rules from taking effect and prevents future presidents from issuing unchecked regulations in their last year in office. House Republicans are working to reverse the destructive overreach from the last administration and this bill is part of our ongoing efforts to make the federal government more efficient, accountable, and responsive to the American people.” ### |
