WASHINGTON — This week, Speaker Johnson and House Republicans observed National Police Week and paid tribute to the more than 24,000 lives lost in the line of duty. House Republicans held a series of events honoring law enforcement officers from around the country and passed several pieces of legislation to improve officer safety and quality of life.

At a candlelight vigil on Tuesday evening, Speaker Johnson said, “When it comes to law enforcement, there truly are fewer callings that could be imaginable and demand more courage and carry more risk than the people who pledge to serve and protect and defend everyone else.”
