WASHINGTON — This morning, Speaker Johnson visited with brave and patriotic Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers in Chicago. His visit comes after violent anti-ICE protests across the country.
“We’ve seen an alarming rise in threats and violence against our ICE and DHS agents. In fact, ICE officers are facing a 413% increase in assaults. That’s why I came here today to let them know that Republicans have their backs,” said Speaker Johnson. “Recent weeks have made clear; our immigration enforcement agencies need more resources and manpower to finish the job. House Republicans are working to deliver both through the One Big Beautiful Bill.”
